School Leadership
Principal – Amy Plonk
Hi Terrapins, I’m Amy Plonk! I’m a wife to Darrell and proud mom to Emma, 19 and Eli, 16. As a family, we love traveling to baseball games—we’re on a journey to visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums and only have five left in California!
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and spent 23 years as a classroom teacher before earning my master’s degree in school administration from Gardner-Webb University.
I’m passionate about building relationships and am so thankful to be part of the Tuttle Elementary family.
I began my career at Oxford Elementary as a teacher in 2003 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During my 20 years there, I taught grades 3-5. I obtained my National Boards in 20010 and renewed them in 2019. I was selected as the Oxford Elementary School Teacher of Year in 2013 and again in 2022. In 2023, I become an instructional coach within Catawba County Schools, serving the Maiden feeder, and in 2024 became the Assistant Principal at Tuttle Elementary.
